Background
Evidence indicates that many aboriginal communities, especially those in Canada’s north, are already experiencing climate change. These communities are vulnerable to climate change given their location, resource limitations and their reliance on natural habitat. Climate change has affected community infrastructure, threatened important traditions, such as hunting, harvesting and fishing, and has brought about catastrophic disruptions to community access – necessary when living in remote areas.
